アップルがサムスンとのフラッシュメモリ合弁計画を取り下げ

ロイターによると、アップルとサムスンは携帯プレーヤ用フラッシュメモリチップ製造を目的とした38億ドル規模のジョイントベンチャーを計画していたが、アップル側が取り下げたようだ。理由はカルテルやその他企業スキャンダルを背景とした「韓国内での反サムスン感情の激化」があげられている。

サムスンからiPod nano用メモリチップの大幅な割引を受けているアップルの製品プランにどの程度の影響があるかはまだ分からないが、アップルはすでに「他のフラッシュメモリメーカー」と同様の合弁事業について話を進めているとのこと。
