Palm CEO曰く「今後もPalm OSでがんばります」

PalmのCEO エド・コリガン氏(写真)が開発者たちに送ったメールによると、同社はこれからもPalm OSで行くとのこと。Windows Mobileを採用した理由は「Treoのマーケットを拡大するため」であって、「Palm OSのような既存の製品や技術的パートナーシップ」から離れる意図はないとしている。

Treo 700wの発表やPalm Sourceの買収などのニュースからPalmはPalm OSを捨てるんじゃないかという懸念にいちおう明確に答えたものといえる。

それはまあめでたいとして、Linuxベースになる新世代Palm OSというやつはいつになったら登場するんでしょうか。
