iPodの再生時間を大幅に伸ばす(かもしれない)新チップ

nanoや5Gも含むほとんどのiPodに採用されているオーディオチップのメーカーWolfson Microelectronicsが、消費電力を大幅に減らした新型WM8985を発表。現行と比較して70%長い再生時間が実現するとのこと。アップルが採用すれば今後は20+時間再生のiPodが登場するかもしれない。

オーディオチップの消費電力が下がっても液晶やその他のコンポーネントもあるためそのまま再生時間+70%にはならないとしても、浮いた電力を他の機能に廻せると思えばなかなか期待できる変化。再生時間が大幅に落ちてもいいからBluetooth内蔵を期待しているのですが、なかなか実現しないのはレシーバー側にあまり改善が望めないから？
