Palm OS on Linuxは「ACCESS Linux Platform」に

PalmSourceを買収したACCESSが3GSMで発表したところによると、これまで"Cobalt"と呼ばれてきたLinuxベースのPalm OSは"Palm"の名を捨てて"ACCESS Linux Platform"(ALP)となり、スマートフォン・モバイル端末向けOSとしてSymbiamやWindows Mobileと対抗するとのこと。

OSとしてはカーネル2.6.12(以上)にGTK+を採用、従来のPalm OS用ソフトウェアが走るほかACCESSのブラウザNetFront、PalmのPIM/Hotsync/PalmDesktopを含む構成。

問題はどことどこが採用するのか(PalmのTreoほかはどうなるのか)？ですが、ACCESSによれば最初のALP搭載デバイスは2007年に登場とのこと。
