祝：PS3ゲームはリージョンフリーに

SCEワールドワイドスタジオ社長Phil Harrison氏がGDC基調講演後の質問セッションで明らかにしたところによると、PS3本体は地域ごとに別だがゲームはリージョンフリーで提供されるとのこと。

リージョンロックのための機構がないわけではなく、(PSP同様に)当初は有効にしないだけと思われますが、リージョンロックをかけたばかりにMODチップの普及に拍車をかけ結果的に海賊版ソフトが走る本体の数を増やしていた頭の悪さにようやく気がついたようです。善哉善哉。
