全身LEDスーツで光療法

LED電球や街灯を実用化したりカメレオンランプで話題を集めるPhilipsでもこれはちょっと、というフォトン織物(微妙な応用を紹介する動画)にも意外な使い道が見つかったようです。Delft大学のPhilomeen Engels氏が考案した全身LEDスーツLedwrapは布地の間にフィリップスのLEDフォイルを挟んだ構造で、「クリグラー・ナジャール症候群」の光療法へ利用するため試験が進められているとのこと。

クリグラー・ナジャール症候群とはある酵素が欠けているために血中のビリルビンを処理できない病気で、光療法のためには光を照射するベッドに一日数時間から12時間も横たわっている必要があるそうです。

現在のプロトタイプでは服というより歩ける寝袋に近くバッテリー駆動もできない(電源から離れられない)とのことですが、一日も早い実用化をお祈りいたします。写真をみて何かを思い出すがなんだか分からないという方、それはたぶんこれ。

If Philips is wise enough to remember famous Mifare technology. They may implement RF technology to supply power to the LED suits. Maybe GSM mobile station can be the powre source for the purpose. ???
