GP2X用の外付けI・Oボード

Linuxベースのオープンハンドヘルド機GP2Xを拡張する外付けI Oボードが登場。GP2X本体の拡張ポートに接続してUSB(ホスト)ポート×4、外部音声・映像出力、RS232CにJtagポートを追加します。

GP2X本体はARM系デュアルCPUにカスタムGPU、64MBメモリとSDカードスロットを載せているため、外部モニタとキーボード・マウスをつなげば非力ながら超小型のLinuxマシンに。

RS232CやJTAGが付いているためゲームやアプリの開発用にも便利ですが、GP2Xが720x480解像度のDivXやMP3/OGG再生に対応することを活かして小型のメディアプレーヤに、あるいはカスタム筐体のなかで各種エミュレータを走らせてゲーム機になどModプロジェクトの中身としてもおもしろいものが作れそうです。価格は$46、GP2X本体は$189.99。
