VIA VX700 次世代UMPC向けシングルチップ

さらに小型の次世代UMPC向けチップVIA VX700が正式発表されました。

VX700はVIAのC7-M / C7-M ULVプロセッサをベースにUniChrome Proグラフィック、Vinyl HDオーディオコントローラ、4GBまでのDDR2メモリ、SATA150 / SATA IIコントローラ、USB 2.0ポート×6、PCIスロット×4などの機能を35mm角チップに詰め込んだもの。

VIAいわく、VX700を搭載したデバイスは従来より最大40%の小型化が実現できるとのこと。画面やHDD・入力インタフェイスなどに左右されるサイズはともかく、現行のUMPCで公称3時間程度というバッテリー駆動時間の大幅な延長に期待です。
