AMDが55億ドルでATI買収？

Bloombergがインサイダー筋の情報として伝えているところによると、以前から噂になっていたAMDのATI買収は今度こそ現実になる(かもしれない)とのこと。 両社が最終的な合意に至れば数日中にも発表になるとみられ、買収金額は55億ドル。

AMD製のグラフィック統合チップが強力になってインテルに対抗という説明はまあ分かります。AMDもATIも「推測や噂にはコメントせず」のようですが、これまで通りNVIDIAや他社製ボードも選べる分には歓迎できるお話です。
