マイクロソフトが"OLPCキラー" FonePlusをデモ

開発途上国にはOLPCではなく高機能携帯と主張していたマイクロソフトが新コンセプト"PhonePlus"デバイスのデモを公開 (写真はCESキーノートから)。

題目としては新しいPCを一台導入させるより比較的普及しているテレビと携帯を使うべき、ついては携帯にテレビ出力・外付けキーボードを用意すれば電話としても使えるしOLPCにはないインターネット接続もなんとかなる、といったもの。

WordやIEを走らせるデモがおこなわれた、とだけ報じられているところからするとデバイスとしてはとくに目新しいものではなく単なるCEベース携帯のようです。まあLinuxじゃなければなんでもいいということではないかと思われます。
