miuro：自走式iPodドックロボ

PINOで有名なロボットテクノロジー企業ZMPが自律移動するロボット音楽プレーヤ"miuro"(みゅーろ）を発表。幅35cm×高さ22cmほどの半球型二輪ロボットに80mmウーファー×2、ツィーター×2の4スピーカーとiPodドック、802.11b/g無線LANを搭載したもので、カメラやジャイロセンサで自分の位置と地形を認識、リモコンのボタンを押せばユーザの位置を認識して最適な場所から音楽を聴かせてくれます。

iPodのほか無線LAN経由でネットラジオやiTunes / WMPからのストリーミング再生も可能。追加ソフトウェアパッケージを載せれば障害物を避けて自律移動したり、ネット経由の遠隔操作やカメラ画像のメール送信といったセキュリティロボ的なこともできます。

現在zmpのサイトで先着500台の先行予約販売を受付中。価格はmiuro本体が10万8800円、自律移動や遠隔コミュニケーション機能は2万円くらいの追加料金。

どこにいても見つけ出して正しい位置を占めようとするスピーカーと考えるとなかなか面白そうです。次はスピーカーフォンやメール・スケジュールなどの各種お知らせ機能、リスナーが走って逃げてもリアルタイムで追跡してくる機能を備えた飛行版をお願いします。
