iTunes 7：登場から約8時間でクラック

新iPodと共に発表されたiTunes 7はiTMSあらためiTunes Storeでの映画・ゲームダウンロードや一新されたインタフェイスなど魅力的なアップデートを果たしましたが、あまり嬉しくないのはiTunesで購入した曲からFairPlay DRMを除去してiPod / iTunes以外でも聞けるようにするソフトQTFairUseが使えないように穴を塞いできたこと。

とはいえフェアユース派クラッカーの皆さんも黙っているはずがなく、iTunes 7にも対応したverがあっさり公開されています。キーノートのログによるとジョブズが壇上でiTunes 7を発表したのは午前10時:22分前後、ダウンロードが開始されたのはそれから多少後。一方hymnプロジェクト(Hear Your Music aNywhere)のフォーラムでiTunes 7対策版QTFairUseが公開されたのは同日午後6時28分。つまり今回のクラックに要したのは長めに見積もって8時間6分ほど。

iTunesに大量に金を落としているので気づいたらほかのプレーヤに移行できなくなった、別の環境でも聞きたい、手持ちの携帯やサブのmp3プレーヤはAACに対応しているのにFairPlayのせいで聞けないという方はRead先からダウンロードしてみてください。
