ソニーのバッテリーリコール、ノートPC以外にも波及の可能性

Consumer Reports が米CPSC(消費者製品安全委員会)の広報官Julie Vallese氏の言葉として伝えているところによると、「今後(10月に)公表されるソニーのリコールはノート型コンピュータだけでなく、DVDプレーヤや携帯用ゲームデバイスに及ぶ可能性が高い」。

ソニーはCPSCに協力して欠陥バッテリーによる発火の危険性がある機器の特定を進めています。ウォールストリートジャーナルの記事では、ポータブルDVDプレーヤでも相当数の発火事例が報告されていたとのこと。CPSCによれば、現在確認されているDVDプレーヤの発火事例は47件。「バッテリーから火が出る可能性は低いが、現実に存在している」(Vallese氏)。

危険なソニー製バッテリーを採用した携帯ゲーム機やDVDプレーヤの機種名についてはまだ未確定であり、今後の発表を待つ必要があります。
