ソニー、HDセットトップボックスBRAVIA Internet Video Linkを発表

ソニーのCESプレビューキーノートで発表された製品 / サービスのひとつ。BRAVIA Internet Video Linkはブラビアに接続する(もしくは内蔵される)ユニットで、インターネットからHDを含む映像コンテンツをダウンロード / ストリーミングするもの。

コンテンツプロバイダはAOLやYahoo！、Grouper(ソニーのYouTubeのようなサイト)、Sony Pictures、BMG Musicなど。インタフェイスはPS3やPSPとおなじくXMB(クロスメディアバー)。

Xbox 360のXbox Live VideoやIPTV、Sling MediaのSlingCatcher、アップルのiTV(仮)、シャープがプレスイベントで公開したPLCでHDストリーミングするNetwork AQUOSなどなど、今年は「HDテレビにIPTVサービス」が本格化する年といえそうです。
