任天堂のゲーム携帯特許

Google Patentsにて、また面白そうな特許が発掘されました。"Electronic apparatus having game and telephone functions"(ゲームと電話機能を持った電子器具)と題されたもので、図表はそのままゲーム携帯電話のもの。

アブストラクトによると、ゲーム用CPUと電話用CPUを備えたデバイスで、プレイ中に着信したときの割り込みの処理方法などについて記述しているようです。

出願は2001年11月、取得は2006年6月。2005年のEngadgetインタビューでゲームプラットフォームとしての携帯電話について問われた宮本茂氏の答えは：

「任天堂はねえ、携帯電話につながるケーブルを出したことがあるんですね。けどやっぱりね、ぼく自身が携帯電話を使ってて、携帯電話は電話をするためにあるので、バッテリーの問題がよほど解決しない限り、何かそういうつながることは難しいなとまだ今のところは思ってます。」

「今のところ」が解決すれば今度こそDSフォンが登場するかもしれません。
