WDの本型外付けHDD My BookシリーズにギガビットLAN端子つきのNASバージョンMy Book World Editionが加わりました。容量は1TB。RAID-1にも対応します。外付けHDDなどを接続してさらに容量を増やせるUSBポートx1も装備。ネットワークストレージとしては外出先からのリモートアクセスに対応する"Data OnHand"機能を搭載。価格は$499。容量半分のWorld Edition ("II"が付かない)は$279。背表紙側にあるリングは残り容量をお知らせするLEDゲージとのこと。
