兵士の命を救ったiPod

Flickrに「兵士の命を救ったiPod」として掲載されている写真。所有者は米イラク駐留軍のKevin Garrad氏。イラク市街をパトロール中に至近距離からAK-47で銃撃を受けたものの、左胸ポケットにいれておいたiPodに当たったため無傷だったというお話。iPodを貫通した銃弾はボディアーマーで止まったとのこと。

話題になっているのは「iPodが銃弾を止めて命拾いする確率」が低いからではなく、「それがHP iPodである確率」のせいではないかと思われます。「iPodで命を救われた」例と「iPodを聞いていたら警戒が遅れて命を落とした」例の比率も気になるところです。

別にiPODに着弾しなくても、ボディアーマーあるんだから問題なかったんでは？ｗ
