iPhoneをサードパーティアプリに開放

純正アプリしかないくせにスマートフォンを名乗るな、と不満があったiPhoneもサードパーティ製アプリに開放されることが発表されました。「D」カンファレンスでもセキュリティと安定性の問題さえ解決すればと語られていたように、サードパーティアプリの提供は確実と考えられてきましたが、用意されるのはSafariベース / webベース環境でした。

webスタンダードに準拠すれば特別なSDKが要らず、かつiPhoneのルック&フィールにあわせたカスタマイズが可能。また通話や標準メールアプリ、電話帳といったiPhoneのネイティブサービスにアクセス可能。ウェブアプリケーションとして配布。デモの様子はキーノートにて。
