クリエイティブの新作はカードサイズの「ZEN」、16GBモデルも登場

月末のベルリンIFAにて正式発表される(けれどすでに公式ページがある)クリエイティブの新作ポータプルプレーヤは接尾辞なしの「Creative ZEN」。55 x 83 x 11.3mm (65g)のクレジットカードサイズに2.5インチQVGA液晶ディスプレイを搭載した音楽・動画プレーヤで、音楽はMP3, WMA(DRM対応)、AAC、Audible、動画はWMV, DivX 4/5, Xvid, Motion JPEGの再生に対応。

内蔵メモリ容量は4GB, 8GBに加えて16GBモデルが用意され、さらにSDカードスロットも装備します。そのほかFMチューナーやボイスレコーダ、静止画ビューアといった付加機能、さらにOutlookと同期できるカレンダー・予定表・コンタクトリストとオーガナイザ系機能も搭載。連続再生時間は音楽が25時間、動画で5時間。

DivX Certifiedは取得していないもののトランスコード無しのDivX / Xvid再生に加えて、AACにも対応したのはうれしい変化です(iTunes Plusの.m4aファイルに対応。つまりFairPlay DRMは無理)。価格は4GBが$149, 8GBが$199, 16GBで$299とこちらも挑戦的。新gigabeat Tシリーズのようにライバルの増えてきたカードサイズの動画対応プレーヤですが、VisionでもMでもSlimでもなくストレートに「ZEN」と命名した意気込みが伝わってくるような仕様・価格です。

Dear Sirs,

I'am awaiting delivery of the ZE 16GB from Amazon.fr. They will send with it, the Créative Zen holder in black leather, red stitching and storage for two
extra sd cards. Hope they will recieve my payment soon so I can give it as a gift to my daughter, who kept thinking of an Ipod nanno as replacement
for her fallen, soundless Ipod she got before a couple of years.
I guess that ZEN will give her more for less price.
122, Euro for both, including home delivery, a price to dream off.
