iriver W10 韓国で発売

昨年夏ごろ最初に名前が登場したときはQWERTYキーボードにHDDを搭載したiriverのUMPCらしいとも囁かれ、今年1月のCESでタッチスクリーン+無線LAN搭載ポータブルプレーヤであることが明らかになったiriver W10がついに韓国で発売されたようです。

大きめのタッチスクリーンで動画再生も可能、フラッシュメモリ、しかも無線LAN入りのポータブルプレーヤといえば今年6月末に登場のiPhoneが一世を風靡したり、つい最近には電話抜きで軽い「補助輪」ことiPod touchも登場して流行のカテゴリとなっていますが、irver W10も仕様的には負けていません。たとえば3インチ480x272のワイドディスプレイ、H.264やWMA , WMV9、Ogg Vorbisを含むマルチコーデック、2/4/8GB本体メモリに加えてminiSDスロットで拡張可能など。

売りである無線LANでできることはたとえばネットからのストリーミング再生、VoIPアプリといったものに加えて無線LAN APを元に位置情報を取得するサービス＋地図アプリなど。最初から電話ではないiPod touchの良きライバルといったところでしょうか。
