Mac OS X Leopardは10月26日登場

WWDC 2006でのジョブズ総帥プレゼンから「iPhoneのため」延期、WWDC 2007での新機能発表まで延々とお伝えしてきたMac OS X 「Leopard」の発売日が正式に発表されました。米Appleの16日付けプレスリリースによれば、Mac OS 10.5は10月26日金曜、午後6時より出荷開始。

価格はシングルユーザーでUS$129。1世帯5ユーザライセンスのファミリーパックは$199。10月1日移行に新Macを購入したユーザは送料・手数料$9.95のアップグレードパッケージを受け取れます(いずれも米Apple)。公式になった最低動作要件は512MB以上のRAM、全インテルMacとPowerPC G5またはG4(867Mhz以上)。詳細はapple.comのOS X仕様ページを参照のこと。
