AT&T CEO、3G版 iPhone 来年登場を認める

いずれ登場することは既定路線、でも表立って言及されることはあまりない3Gネットワーク版 iPhoneについて、米国における独占キャリアAT&TのCEO Randall Stephenson氏がコメントしています。

会合で3G版iPhoneの登場について尋ねられた答えは「来年には用意できる」。価格についてはアップルのジョブズCEOが決定する、とだけ。9月にロンドンで開かれた英国版iPhone 発表イベントのQAセッションでは、ジョブズ総帥が「3Gチップセットは電力喰らい。バッテリーが2 - 3時間になってしまう」。「3Gなら5+時間は必要になる。これは来年になるだろう」と回答しています。

低速なEDGE (+ WIFI)の現行版が登場したばかりの欧州では今iPhoneを買うべきなのか待つべきか微妙に悩ましくなるかもしれませんが、恵まれた日本の携帯電話ユーザーにはあまり関係のない悩みです。
