Optimus mini 3.0 開発始動、ワイヤレス化へ

有機ELキーボードOptimus Maximusの正式出荷を果たしたArt Lebedevから、次のOptimus製品の報せがありました。Optimus Project Blogによると、開発が始動したのは3キー版Optimus mini threeの次期バージョン、Optimus mini 3.0。

ミニスリーは3つの有機ELディスプレイキーが並んだ多目的USBデバイスでしたが、完全な新デザインになるという3.0が目指すのはもうひとつのOptimus コンセプトOptimus Tactusの小型版。現在の3ボタンから、ひとつのタッチセンサーデバイスを3つあるいはそれ以上のエリアに分割したもの。また現行の有線USB接続から、たとえばBluetoothを採用した無線接続も最優先課題とされています。

無線とタッチスクリーンを備えPCと接続できるというだけならばiPhone / iPod touchをはじめWindows MobileでもNintendo DSでも構わないような気がしますが、あくまで「ボタン」だった初代・二代目を受け継いで周辺機器に徹したデザインを期待できそうです。新デザインの画像は近日公開。
