Spectec SDW-823 世界初 microSDIO 無線LANカード

「SDIO EXPERT！」のSPECTECから、世界初のmicroSD無線LANカードが発表されています。仕様は802.11b/g準拠、SDIOインターフェース、平均消費電力 125mAなど。対応OSはWindows CEやWindows Mobile 2003SE / 5 / 6ほか。Eye-Fiのようにメモリーカードとしてささればどんな機器でも使えるという製品ではありません。

発表やデモはずいぶん昔から見かけた気がしますが、phonenewsによれば今年の5月に完成、6月に認可を得て7月出荷(予定)とのこと。無ければそうとう不便と思われるmicroSDカードとしてのストレージ容量および価格は不明。
