WiiリモコンハックのJohnny Lee プレゼン @ TED

上は画面から飛びだして見えるWiiリモコンヘッドトラッキング動画で一躍有名になったJohnny Chung Lee氏のTED講演「Creating tech marvels out of a $40 Wii Remote」。内容はプロジェクターとPCにWiiリモコンを組みあわせたデジタル・ホワイトボード(マルチペンタブレット)、マルチタッチインターフェース、Wiiリモコンヘッドトラッキングとすでに発表されたものですが、5分ほどの短い実演で会場を沸かせるプレゼンはあいかわらず見事です。

Johnny Lee氏が最後に語っているヘッドトラッキング採用ゲームはEAのWii用ブロックパズルゲームBOOM BLOX。GDCでは隠し要素としてWiiリモコンヘッドトラッキングを採用するとの発表があったものの、結局製品版には含まれないとのこと。残念。日本のゲーム製作者のみなさんもこっそり(あるいは大々的に) 採用してみてください。
