サムスンSDI、12.1インチの酸化物TFT 有機ELディスプレイを開発、コンセプトノート公開

サムスンSDIが酸化物TFTを使った12.1インチAMOLED (アクティブマトリクス有機ELディスプレイ)を開発、ノートPCに採用したコンセプトを発表しました。解像度は1280 x 768。アクティブマトリクス有機ELディスプレイはより大きなサイズのものも開発されていますが、今回発表された酸化物TFTによる製造技術は従来のシリコンTFTより大幅に製造コストを抑えることができ、有機ELノートやテレビの量産につながるもの。

サムスンは2009年にも14 - 15.4インチWXGAの有機ELディスプレイノートや21 - 23インチUXGAのディスプレイ、2010年には40から42インチフルHDパネルを製造するというロードマップを示しています。写真は製品コンセプトというより「ノート用です」と示すための書き割り風ですが、来年には本物の有機ELノートが購入できるかもしれません。ところで、後ろのパネルは倒れないように支えてる足なんでしょうか。
