LGが15型の有機ELテレビを年内投入、来年には32型・42型も

2007年にソニーが世界で初めて製品化に成功して以来、それに続く製品が聞こえてこなかった有機EL（OLED）テレビ分野に韓国LGが乗り込みます。サイズはソニーのXEL-1（11型）より大きな15型。まずLGの公式Flickrアカウントで画像が公開されたあと、現在開催中のIFA 2009でも展示されています。ロイターによると、韓国では11月にも発売される予定。また同社の説明によれば米国でも2月か3月にも発売されます。価格はXEL-1とだいたい同じ$2500くらい。

さらに同社の説明では、これに続いて32型・42型パネルも2010年内に完成の見込みとのことです。値段の問題を解決すればテレビ業界の勢力図が変わってしまいそうな商品だけに、3D液晶への参入を発表したばかりのソニーもこちらの進捗をそろそろ教えて欲しいものです。
