I use RSS to provide mark information to students from our VLE.
I think the last couple of days of seeing the fallout of based on this name shows why companies do market research about names. A Joystiq poll showed that slightly over half either disliked or hated it and the rest either "could get used to it" or like it. This is not a good sign.

If many on this board think that brand names and branding have nothing to do with success and that it all depends on the product features, I think you are being too simplistic. Branding and naming are major aspects of product identity and consumer acceptance.

The raging fight on the internet clearly shows this naming was a mistake (that Nintendo can't change). The question is why was such a basic mistake made and are they making more critical product mistakes that we don't know about yet.
We stopped watching TV when the first Gulf 'Nintendo' War was on, and never looked back. It's amazing how much time it frees up. Try it!
