A look at Apple's iPod touch-based EasyPay system {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 4th 2009 5:16AM Yep, chip and pin is THE way... Stops credit card fraud stone dead IF the owner of the card doesn't let somebody watch over their shoulder and or write their number down in their wallet (DOH!)
Can't understand why the US hasn't adopted this European wide initiative. It has HUGELY cut cc fraud here.
And this little device doesn't support it! c'mon, magnetic stripe is luddite tech!

Windows 7 receives 7,000 domino salute (video) {Engadget}

Oct 28th 2009 8:37AM it's all a little sadly corporate isn't it!

Three-wheeled eRinGo car concept: no thanks {Engadget}

Oct 21st 2009 1:59PM eRingo, I can't see much out of the windows. It was better in the yellow submarine Paul, Get John to drill some bigger holes with Yoko's ego ray!

iPhone's Google Maps app now shows ads {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 11th 2009 5:18AM No I don't want to see bloody ads! But hey, this incredibly useful service is totally free, so no, I don't mind at all!

NPD: Mac owners are bigger gadget nerds than PC owners {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2009 9:55AM Yes, but I think that if those gadgets were analysed, they would tend to be the BEST gadgets around. The ones that will still be considered innovative in 5yrs time. Not USB frankfurter warmers!!! I suspect windoze users are all spending their money on trying to find peripherals that work straight out of the box!!! ;-)

Star Walk still out of this world (and you might get it for free!) {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 3rd 2009 6:39PM Gotta be worth a try, even though I have star map (or something!) already!

Force Snow Leopard's Dictionary.app to reuse definition window {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 30th 2009 1:46PM Funny, it is working the way it always worked for me. No difference at all!

Drobo Dashboard can show used/available space {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 28th 2009 2:17PM Yep, well and good, but when one's 'infallible' super backup protected Drobo decides to trash it's directory file all you have is 4 x 1.5TB of JUNK! I bought this thing because it was supposed to protect you in the event of hard drive failure, but somehow or other it trashed it's file directory, so all the hard drives are fine, but I can't read a DAMN THING on them!!! This is NOT AT ALL what I expected to get when I paid so much for this thing! I would have been better off upgrading my LaCies!
From a Not at all happy Drobo 2 owner!

Want a discount on a DroboPro? We've got a code for that. {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 23rd 2009 6:25PM All I can say is don't trust this thing as the be-all and end-all to data security. Mine just dumped it's file directory for no reason and I am going through hell trying to recover the info (an aperture library with 1.6Tb on info on it!) I had assumed that with 4 x 1.5tb discs on board everything was safely backed up, but just like any 'simple' hard drive, a little corruption on the HFS+ directory renders the whole thing a big and VERY expensive hunk of plastic and alloy! Wish I had just gone for a stack of LaCie 2Tb drives now!!! (It would have been cheaper and apparently safer!) We shall see if Disk Warrior can save the day when I get back to the studio, but I am not a happy bunny! Tech support is not being too helpful!

TUAW's review of the DroboPro, plus a discount deal for readers {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 4th 2009 6:07PM I have a Drobo mkII and am delighted with it... The software updated itself today so I am assuming that it is fully snow leopard compatible now. I will be upgrading the OS in a week or so...
