Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced that a video event about PlayStation 5 will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch on September 16 at 1 p.m. PDT. The event will be 40 minutes in length.
It will feature "updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners", so in addition to the already announced titles that will be released at the same time as the console, we can expect to hear about upcoming titles that will be released later.
Last week, Microsoft revealed the release date and pricing for the Xbox Series X and Series S. If you're planning to buy a next-gen console, you'll want to know as soon as possible how much it's going to cost and when it's going to be available in regards to the PS5. This video event may reveal those things.
As for the PS5, it has already been announced that it will be available in a standard model with a disc drive and a digital edition with internal storage only. Peripherals previously announced include the DualSense wireless controller, the PULSE 3D wireless headset, the Media Remote for playing and controlling movies and streaming services on the PS5, and an HD camera with two 1080p cameras.
