As a reminder, this article is only "talking about the size" of the iPhone 12 series. You can read a number of meaningful reviews on Engadget's Japanese edition, including the differences in features between each model.

The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro (6.1-inch) are already available, but the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the largest body announced at the same time, and the iPhone 12 mini, the smallest Face ID-equipped model, will be available on November 13 (Pre-orders already started on November 6). Now that we have all the actual devices in hand, we're going to examine the size of the entire iPhone 12 series again.

The 12 Pro Max is the largest iPhone ever, and the mini is the smallest iPhone with Face ID.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max has more presence than I expected

The iPhone 12 Pro Max, as the name suggests, is a larger version of the iPhone 12 Pro, but the camera shooting capabilities are even more powerful. It has a 6.7-inch screen size and weighs 226.5 grams as measured (the official value is 226 grams), so it weighs about 40 grams more than the iPhone 12 Pro.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max has the same color variation and design as the iPhone 12 Pro. This one is gold. Only this color is colored with a technique called "microwave coating". This is just for the color finish, and the strength of the coating is the same as other models.

You can see the increase in size when compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max (right), which was the largest so far. Both weigh the same 226 grams.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen with 2778 x 1284 pixels; the 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch screen with 2688 x 1242 pixels

The impact you get from the screen is naturally better on the 12 Pro Max. The impact you receive from the screen is naturally better than the 12 Pro Max. However, it is a little difficult to hold it as it is because the edge is standing up. Maybe you're used to it.

Comparing the 12 Pro Max and the 11 Pro Max, the 11 Pro Max has a more rounded edge, which makes it easier to fit into the hand and gives the impression of being more compact.

In fact, when you put the 11 Pro Max in the case for the 12 Pro Max, there is quite a gap. We can see that the 12 Pro Max is slightly larger.

Light as a leaf, the iPhone 12 mini

My first impressions of the Phone 12 mini are undeniably influenced by the fact that it is just after holding the Max in my hands, but it's just "small, and light!"

It can be held easily with two fingers. The color and design of the device is matched to the iPhone 12, with a smooth glass back and a matte finish around the camera.

The iPhone 12 mini's camera specs and other features are the same as the iPhone 12 (right). The actual weight was about 132.7 grams, so it's about 30 grams lighter than the iPhone 12.

Examples of camera shots. Enough to capture everyday life.

The iPhone 12 mini has a smaller body than the 4.7-inch second-generation iPhone SE (right), yet it has a larger screen display area. It's an OLED display, so the image quality is much crisper.

Be sure to watch the video review of the actual iPhone 12 mini, which is truly like having just a screen in the palm of your hand.

Now, which size do you choose?

The iPhone 12 series will have four options (plus their respective color variants): the unmarked 6.1-inch or 5.4-inch mini, and the 6.1-inch Pro or 6.7-inch Pro Max.

The iPhone 12 and 12 mini have comparable camera performance, while the Pro Max has more features such as zoom rate and sensor-based image stabilization (see other reviews on Engadget for more).

Geek people will choose the Peo Max because I think they will choose the top of the line all-inclusive, size aside. Also, I think the large screen Pro Max is the best choice for people of the generation who have difficulty seeing up close.

The 12 Pro Max has an even larger screen than the 11 Pro Max (right). Once you've experienced the power of this screen, you may never want to go back to a smaller screen.

Everyone has their own size requirements, whether they want to use it with one hand or carry it around in a pocket or small pochette. Particularly in Japan, where small iPhones are so popular, we feel that the iPhone 12 mini will be a big hit.

From left to right, the 6.7-inch 12 Pro Max, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 (Pro), and the 5.4-inch 12 mini. I have large hands, but I think I can only grip it tightly and tap every inch of the icons until the 6.1

I think 6.1 inches is the limit for one-handed flick input as well... The 12 Pro Max is heavy and I'm afraid of dropping it, so "use it with both hands" is the basic idea.

A woman with small hands holds it as shown in the photo above, and she said she liked the 12 mini.

I hear small bags are in vogue, so the mini looks great as a fashion item (pictured here with the Genuine Leather Case)

If you're still struggling, you can aim for the middle of the line, but how about buying both the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 mini for different uses? Look at all the models and there are really a lot of people who say that.
