Virtual WiFi：マイクロソフトの無線LANカード仮想化ソフト

マイクロソフト・リサーチが無線LANカード仮想化ソフトVirtual WiFiを公開した。一枚の無線LANカードを仮想化して複数枚に見せかけることで、複数のネットワークに接続できる。

まだプロトタイプの段階でWEPなどいくつかの機能は実装されていないが、Windows XP用のバイナリのほかソースコードもダウンロードできる。.11bとgでもいいらしい。

これはつまり、有料WiFiサービスに接続しているPCは同時にアドホックネットワークで他のPCにシェアしなさいってことでしょうか。
