アップル、5.5G iPodにウィルスを混入

アップルのサポートページによると、9月12日以降に出荷された5.5G iPodの一部にWindowsに感染するウィルスRavMonE.exeが含まれていたとのこと。

RavMonE.exeはマスストレージデバイスを介して感染するウィルス(定義としてはワーム)で、apple.comのサポートでは繰り返し「Mac OS Xなら感染しない、iPodにも影響はない」としたうえでWindowsユーザには各社アンチウィルスソフト体験版のリンクを張ってあります。

iPodとiTunesがアップル世界のすばらしさをWindowsユーザに伝えてMac OSに転向させる使命を帯びていることは誰もが知るところですが、今回ばかりはやりすぎたようです。

アップルは、Windows がこのようなウイルスに対して脆弱であることや、出荷前に問題を把握できなかったことを大変遺憾に思います。
