Asusのモジュール式コンセプトPC

Asusが公開したモジュラーPCのコンセプト。本のようにみえるモジュールひとつひとつがCPUやメモリ、ディスクドライブ類になっていて、本棚に並べるようにただ置くだけでPCが組めるというもの。増設や交換もただモジュールを置くだけ。電源供給は電磁誘導式、データ転送は(Asusいわく) ウルトラワイドバンド的な無線技術。

真面目に考えるとほぼ接触に近い近距離でもいいからCPU<->メモリ間やPCIエクスプレス並みの転送速度を持つ無線技術が存在しないとGPUやメモリのアップグレードには使えないような気がしますが、不具合の原因を切り分けるために箱を開けて拡張ボード類を順列組みあわせする苦労を思えばぜひ実現してほしくなります。
