東芝デジタルW録"VARDIA"レビュー

今週の小寺様Zooma!は東芝のデジタルW録画HDDレコーダ"VARDIA"試用レビュー。HD DVD搭載機の価格をみてからにするかどうか悩んでいる方は参考に。中身としてはX6の正常進化、録画系統がTSx2とMPEG-2エンコーダx1なのでデジタル前提設計、HD化のせいかGUIが全体にやや重い、DLNAサーバになるのは評価できるがDTCP-IP非対応(コピワンが外から見えない)など。

性能に関わることではありませんがやはり新ブランドVARDIAの投入タイミングについては小寺様も疑問らしく、「これまでの延長線上の上で突然名前だけが浮上したような、中途半端な印象が拭えない。」とのこと。しかもHD DVDレコーダがVARDIAになるか別ブランドになるか未定だそうです。
