ハイブリッドHDDはVista Premiumの必須要件に

MicrosoftのWindows Client Performance programマネージャMatt Ayres氏がTechEd 2006で語ったところによると、大容量フラッシュメモリを搭載したハイブリッドHDDは"Vista Premium"なモバイルPCの必須要件になるとのこと。

Vista対応へのお墨付きにはとりあえず動きますという"Vista Capable" のほかハイエンド機能を使用するための推奨条件を満たす"Vista Premium"ロゴが導入されることになっていますが、2007年6月1日以降ノートPCではVistaの"ReadyDrive"に対応するハイブリッドHDDを搭載しないとプレミアムは名乗れないことになります。"ReadyDrive"対応ハイブリッドHDDは現在サムスンとシーゲイトから、2007年Q1のVista登場にあわせて出荷予定。
