シスコ、アップルを"iPhone"商標侵害で訴え

話題騒然のアップルiPhoneではないほうの"iPhone"(VoIP電話機)を出しているシスコが、アップルを商標権侵害で地元カリフォルニア地裁に訴えました。

"iPhone"の商標はもともとInfogear社が1996年に取得、2000年に同社を買収してからはCiscoのものとなっていました。てっきり両社のあいだで話し合いがついているとばかり思っていましたが、シスコのニュースリリースによればアップルからは再三申し出があり話し合いを続けてきたものの合意には至っていない(のに勝手に名乗ってる)ということのようです。

CiscoのiPhone商標がどの程度の範囲まで有効なのかいまひとつ分かりませんが、直前になって既存製品に"iPhone"の名前を付けて出してきたのは「消費者の混乱を招く」証拠と主張するためだったのかもしれません。
